Care at Home

About Care at Home

Are you facing the dilemma of caring for a loved one who has fallen very ill, or who is no longer able to manage basic everyday tasks themselves?

Such a situation can be harrowing, and it’s very easy to feel lost and anxious. Especially if this new responsibility falls on your shoulders when you are least expecting it, or when your everyday routine is already packed with tasks and obligations.

In these circumstances, many people start looking at different options for assistance in providing care to their loved one. Different types of care services exist, but if you are looking for one that will cause the least amount of disruption to your loved one’s way of life and which will be most comfortable for them, you should consider health care-at-home (domiciliary care).

Care-at-home is precisely what it sounds like. Your family member or loved one will receive all of the needed medical attention, treatment, and supervision in the comfort of their own home, rather than needing to stay at, or regularly visit, a specialised facility to get the care they need. Care-at-home services like the ones that we offer are a great solution to a difficult situation, with an array of advantages and a simple yet effective concept.

The Advantages

There are several distinct advantages to choosing health care at home over the alternatives like hospital stays and care homes.

Psychological benefits

Many of the elderly and ailing are very mistrusting of outside facilities, clinics, and care centres, where they are surrounded by strangers and completely unfamiliar surroundings. Even when the facilities are comfortable and the carers – pleasant, it can still be incredibly difficult to adjust to a completely new community. It’s easy to see why: they lived their entire life (or a large part of it) in one community, surrounded by the people they know. Thus, they can be reluctant, if not openly defiant, in accepting such surroundings as their new place of residence and a new community.

That’s why we are a community-based service, letting your loved one continue living in their community and surroundings. Getting care at home will eliminate the many stress factors from the care itself and make your loved ones feel more comfortable and in control, even when interacting with someone who they do not know very well.

The same psychological factor applies to the person opting for and ordering the senior home care services. It can be very reassuring to know that your loved one is being taken care of in a familiar and comfortable location, surrounded by acquaintances and neighbours. With the person receiving elderly care at home, you will always know where they are and how to reach them.

Practical benefits

There are also significant practical advantages to having care at home for the elderly. You will not need to spend much time driving your loved one to a facility, dealing with mountains of paperwork,

and struggling to get the person on the phone at a particular time due to the schedule and peculiarities of the care facility or hospital. Accordingly, your loved one will not have to deal with any of these inconveniences, either.

At the same time, care at home is a great way to make sure your loved one gets the best one-on-one care possible. Our carers will devote all their attention to your loved one, so all their needs will be met right away, unlike a hospital or care facility where there is only one carer for 5-10 people. Care at home offers the best care ratio and the most practical and effective way to make sure the elderly is taken care of.

Financial Benefits

It may be surprising to most, but paying for care at home is often less expensive than paying for a care facility or hospital. Special care facilities have to deal with a lot of the same expenses as any household (food, maintenance, etc), but they also have the added burden of paying for rent, wages, etc. This leads to either higher fees or lower quality of service. That is not the case with care at home. Not only do you not have to pay those extra fees, but you also have full control over the cost and quality of care.

There’s also another financial benefit: by choosing care at home, you may be qualifying for more financial contributions from their local authority. Anyone whose assets are worth more than £23,250 does not qualify for funding help, but if your loved one stays in their home, the value of the home does not count towards that value.

Last but not least, we have a short-term (48 hour) contract which means we’re very flexible and can adjust to any changes. You can start, stop, or adjust our services at any time. With us, you will never have to pay for a service you do not use.

Our services

Our care-at-home services are available at all times of the year, and our network currently extends to London and the greater London area, with some services extending even farther.
We have several different packages and plans available when it comes to home care for the elderly in their own home. These plans vary from regular visits to the home for a set number of hours, to a dedicated arrangement where the care worker lives in the house and provides support all-week round. This is known as live-in care.

We understand that every situation is different, and will be more than happy to find or create a care plan that works best for you and your loved one, even if there are special conditions and requirements for the care.

We are just one phone call away, and if you give us a ring, you’ll be surprised at how quickly and seamlessly everything can be arranged. We work with people who:

  • Suffer from dementia or a debilitating illness
  • Are recovering after an illness or treatment
  • Require end-of-life care
  • Need a qualified person to look after them while you are away or preoccupied
  • Have a different situation.

Whatever your loved one’s situation – we will adapt and cater to their needs. We have over 50 years of experience in care, as well as a dedication to quality and a desire to provide your loved one with the highest level of care that they deserve.

“Outstanding Service”

Thank you so much for looking after my mother. I have been around to see her today,
and the flat has never looked cleaner or better maintained. Thanks finally
for doing the laundry and for the spotless state of the flat.
You are a marvel!

Mrs P S, Notting Hill

“Thank you”

I just wanted to thank you for the great care that you
have provided for my mother. She had a really lovely Christmas Day

In particular, there has been a marked improvement in my father’s mental

Why Hundreds of Families
Have Already Chosen Care24Seven for Live-in Care

1:1 Care Ratio: Unlike hospitals or care facilities that have one staff member per a group of elderly, we offer one-on-one care. This means the carer will devote all their time and attention to your loved one and their needs.

48 Hour Contract: We know how unexpectant life can be, and are flexible and ready to accommodate any situation. We have a short contract, which means that you only pay for what you use and can start and stop care at any time, adjusting as needed.

Quality of service: Entrusting the care of your loved ones to somebody you have not known for very long can feel like a risk, but we can assure you of the highest level of care. Our carers will cater to the major and minor needs of your loved one, and provide them with the greatest level of care and treatment that they deserve.

Financial benefits: With the rising costs of care facility services, care at home is proving to be the cheaper option. That’s not surprising as it excludes many of the expenses you would otherwise be paying for in a facility, such as rent and wages, and may even help your loved one qualify for funding help.

A certified training centre: Not only do we have over a million hours of care behind our belt, but we’re a certified training centre ourselves. This means that not only do we train our own carers face-to-face, but we also train other carers from all over the country.

No long waits for care: When care is needed, it is often needed quickly. We can begin our care responsibilities in as little as 48 hours from you first contacting us. In under 48 hours you will have a fully trained carer to look after you or your loved one.
